Accident Scene Examination and Evidence Gathering
Our accident scene examinations follow Police Scotland and Crown Office expectations while remaining wholly independent. We secure, measure and document the locus: road layout, signage, visibility, lighting, gradients and surface condition, noting weather and traffic management.
Using calibrated devices, we capture skid, yaw and debris fields, vehicle rest positions and damage profiles. We review witness statements and police procedures for compliance and potential error.
Scale plan drawings, annotated photographs and, where helpful, high-definition video are produced to evidential standards, creating a reliable foundation for reconstruction, causation analysis and liability assessment under Scots law.

Dangerous Driving Investigation
We investigate allegations of dangerous or careless driving, correlating statements, CCTV, dashcam, vehicle data and locus evidence. Findings address standard of driving under Scots law, causation, visibility, speed and decision-making, with reasoned opinions suitable for Sheriff and High Court proceedings.

Accident Vehicle Examinations
Independent forensic inspections identify pre-existing faults, impact damage and post-collision defects. We assess brakes, steering, tyres, lighting and restraints against Construction and Use requirements, preserving chain of custody. Results clarify whether mechanical condition contributed to the incident.

Collision Reconstructions
Using physics-based reconstruction, crush analysis and time-distance calculations, we test competing versions of events. Speed estimates, sightlines and reaction opportunities are evaluated, producing clear, illustrated explanations for courts, tribunals, insurers and solicitors, and robust opinions on causation and contributory negligence.
Our Expert Accident Investigation Services
Led by George Gilfillan, former Police Traffic Patrol Officer and qualified Collision Investigator (London Institute of City and Guilds; Aberdeen University), our team delivers Scotland-wide forensic collision investigation. We examine police procedures, vehicles and loci, analyse statements and footage, and reconstruct events to establish liability and causation.
Reports are typically completed within 14–21 days of full disclosure. Work can be funded privately, via insurers or by Scottish Legal Aid Board sanction.
